These are the beauty travel trends to look out for in 2025
As we step into 2025, the way beauty and travel intersect is truly reshaping the way we explore the world. Now, we’re increasingly seeking experiences that not only satisfy our wanderlust but also enhance our beauty and wellbeing, too. So what direction will this take in 2025? As Condé Nast Traveller’s beauty director, these are my predictions for how beauty will influence travellers' decisions in 2025.

The demand for wellness tourism continues to rise – which is no surprise with increasing rates of stress and burnout in the UK. But there’s also a notable shift towards travellers seeking retreats and facilities that offer beauty-centric programmes, too. The perfect example is integrative health centre SHA Wellness, who has just opened a new dermatology and trichology centre in their Spain location, aiming to bridge the gap between beauty and health. So, this year, expect to see more skincare workshops and holistic beauty rituals at your regular health retreats, as travellers seek both physical rejuvenation and self-care during their journeys.

Experiencing the local wellness customs is an integral part of our travel experience – a trip to Hawaii isn’t complete without a restorative Lomi Lomi massage, after all. Now, we’re making these a focal point of our trips, and seeking out these experiences to help us connect with the local culture through an incredible (and hopefully relaxing) multi-sensory experience. There are so many ways to try these traditional beauty rituals; from visiting local markets to discover indigenous beauty ingredients to attending self-care workshops led by local artisans. Wherever your next trip takes you, add a local beauty experience to your itinerary for a perfect holiday combination.

With sustainability at the forefront of our travel choices, eco-friendly beauty tourism is gaining momentum. Travellers are opting for destinations and accommodations that prioritise sustainable beauty practices, such as using organic products, supporting local beauty experts, and overall minimising their environmental impact. At Soukya in Bangalore, for example, the oils and herbs used in many of the treatments and Ayurvedic rituals are sourced from the property’s organic farm and are pressed on-site too. Travel itineraries might now include appointments at renowned salons, visits to iconic beauty landmarks or exclusive beauty shopping experiences with experts. 5. Beauty experiences in travel hubs
The rise of beauty pop-ups and services in airports, train stations, and hotels is undeniably making our travel experiences a little more exciting. When so many of us dread the queues and waiting time spent at airports, the lure of express facials through to incredible beauty bounty via vending machines makes the prospect of travel so much more enjoyable. One experience to seek out on your next transatlantic voyage is the robot manicure at JFK terminal 4. Is there a better way to kill time between flights than having a robot machine paint your nails? I think not.
